Well...I already did an nvram reset, and you're correct. It didn't work.

I'll take your advice, and reseat all the connectors on the dc controller board, and go from there.

Thank you very much for your clear, concise, information.

So...I followed your advice and disconnected/reconnected every connector on the low voltage board. Put it back together enough to power it up, and lo and behold...it printed a cleaning page, and one b&w document via wireless.

I'm thinking Dave's a genius, so I powered it down, installed the new color toner cartridges, and powered it back up for a color doc test...50.2 fuser error. [bangshead]

I've ordered the board you linked to. For the 23 bucks and small change it will be worth it. The same outfit has a power supply also, so if the board doesn't work I'll try that next. I will fix this thing.

Thanks again for the advice, Dave. I still think you're a genius.

I'm pleased to say the low voltage board fixed the problem...for now anyway. Kudos to Dave. He was right on the money. Thanks! The ebay seller was prompt to ship, and the part was extremely well packed.

I did lose the ability to scan to a network folder in the nvram reset. The printer can't find the computer, which is odd, because it will scan to the computer that the network folder is located on. Maybe I have the file path wrong. I'm not too concerned as I see that problem is not mine alone.

I also have a perfectly good used fuser as a spare should someone need one.

If I had a sledge hammer in the house this POS HP printer would take my wrath.

Same fuser errors back today. Probably printed a dozen or so pages.

I guess I could get a new board, and a new power supply, and try replacing them together.

I'm at a loss.

I must say that you have tried all the possible solutions to this problem and still stying positive to solve the machine out.Kudo's for that.Well everybody has tried even refer to manual does not seem to help.If i was in your situation i would try something that does not make sense,Did you load the latest firmware on this machine? If you did this i would try and down grade to an earlier version of firmware.I am not sure this will help but it might be worth a try.Hope that you will solve the problem and let us know what was the outcome.

So...I finally contacted the people that I bought the dc controller from. I have more parts on order. I'll update when I can verify this problem has been solved.

FWIW, the people at laserxperts.com are awesome.

So....if anyone else gets 50.2, or 50.4, fuser errors and you've replaced the fuser with no luck...

replace the fuser power supply, and the low voltage power supply at the same time. One part can damage the other so don't try to shortcut it.

Again, the people at laserxperts.com were extremely helpful. Great resource for HP printer tech and parts.
