I love my printer. Up until yesterday, I was able to print two-sided simply by going to print, checking print two-sided.

From the ipad, this works fine, but with my PC it won't automatically print two sided. The printer window shows taking the document, turning it over and putting it into the manual feeder. This happened suddenly. It worked fine before. I tried going to "advanced" options, but I couldn't fix it.

I need some suggestions on how to get the printer to automatically print two sided, instead of me turning the paper and putting it into the manual feeder.

Hi janis-murph,

Probably your Windows 10 got an update and that messed up the driver.

Please unistall the driver, reboot the PC, and then download the latest driver for your printer and OS.

If that does not resolve the issue, download and upgrade the printer's firmware to the latest version as well.

I hope this will help,

Cheers!

The 'automatic discovery' feature used by some drivers on installation (or update) doesn't always work; ensure that the driver knows that a duplex unit is present on the printer (assuming that one is present):

  • For the printer instance in question, bring up the Printer properties dialogue.
  • Select the Device settings tab.
  • Ensure that the duplex unit is set to Installed rather than Not installed.

You'll probably need to be logged in with administrator credentials in order to change the device settings.
