My printer went offline and I got Malware alerts.  I went to HP Support and found there is a fix for this but was never able to find the fix.  I uninstalled my software and then tried to reinstall the software and printer drivers, and each time it said it was installed the folder was empty.  I then tried to install the HP Easy Start with the same result.  I'm unable to download software to run my printer.  Anyone have any suggestions?

The solution is to download (and install) this package which will update drivers AND THE CERTIFICATE:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-printer-essen...

It is NOT the same as the driver package, Easy Start, or Easy Admin other people are recommending.

If the link comes up blank, try right clicking and saving it. If you install this package and still have trouble, try uninstalling your printer and reinstalling by going through Apple Logo (Upper Left of Screen)/System Preferences/Printers & Scanners.

Easy Admin did nothing. Easy Startup did nothing. 5.1 drivers did nothing. This worked for me!

If this solved your issue, please thumbs up and mark as solved!

I tried clicking on it, got a blank page.  It then tried copying and pasting it, but that didn't work either.  No sure what you mean by right clicking it and saving it.

would you expect HP to SOON update their driver(s) for Catalina OS (10.15)? or shall I revert to 10.14 OS version for the time being and wait for HP?

It's not a driver problem, but a certificate problem. Please follow these instructions exactly:

download (and install) this package (From HP FTP) which will update drivers AND THE CERTIFICATE:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-printer-essen...
The install takes a bit. Let it run, even if it seems like it stalled out!

If the link comes up blank, try right/control clicking and saving it (it takes a while to download, and a while to install). If you install this package and still have trouble, try restarting. Then go about uninstalling your printer USING THIS METHOD ONLY (NOT EASY START, NOT EASY ADMIN): Apple Logo (Upper Left of Screen)/System Preferences/Printers & Scanners. Then restart your computer. The reinstall using the same menu in Printers & Scanners and use the default driver.

If you still can't find the printer, install the 5.1 driver package from HP: https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1888?locale=en_US

Then restart and try to install again through the Printers & Scanners menu.

If you are still having problems, please create a new post and message me with the link, and I'll help you there. I will no longer be following this thread.
