HP P1102W LaserJet Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Upgraded to Windows 10  I changed toner cartridges in my LaserJet P1102W and get the "needs attention" and "needs user interaction" message.  Tried changing printer port, but the ports are greyed out and don't let me select them or delete. Also, if I put the old toner in, it prints? Tried disconnecting printer, letting sit for 60 seconds and restarted. Still won't print. Cleared the print spooler and still unable to print. Printer is hooked to a wireless network. Cable not long enough to connect. My wifes computer is on the same network using Windows 7 and it prints fine.

Saw a similiar post, with what appeared to be a successuful response, but the response was not posted. Just a thank you from the original poster. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If it works on other computers then the issue is connectivity to the windows 10 computer. Suggest you press the button on the printer until all lights blink and release so you get a config page. Using the ip address under the wireless settings add the printer to the windoes 10 computer using add printer, local printer and then use the create port and choose standard tcp/ip and use then use the address on the config page.

If I unserstand your issue you changed toner and now the printer does not print. If you put back the old toner it works. If that is correct, then the issue has to be the new toner. If hp return to place of purchase for refund or exchange. If aftermarket you are at the mercy of the seller.

The error message didn't occur right after the new cartridge was installed. It worked for a couple weeks then the error occured. As I mentioned previously the printer works fine from my other workstation with Windows 7 operating system but not with my Windows 10 workstation.

Maybe try to uninstall the drivers and to reinstall the drivers.Sometimes the drivers do get corrupted.Hope this will help you solve the problem.

DavidNutz your recommendation worked!!!!

I do however get an error when printing that says "Error printing on HP Laserjet

printer couldn't print microsoft word document"

I'm ok with that because the document prints anyway.

Thanks for all your help, I can finally put this nightmare behind me.
