Hello! I have a HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw from 2022. Recently, when I try to scan/copy documents through the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), it either is unable to grab the document, or the copy ends up with dark lines across the page. I have tried to clean the ADF, but it seems as though the plastic at the top of the ADF is warped/misaligned and one of the rollers is being grated down every time we try to use this function. The roller has indents that do not look as though they are meant to be there and it seems to be shedding little plastic shreds. I've attached photos that hopefully better illustrate what I am describing. Has anyone else had a problem like this or idea about how to resolve it? Thanks! (i.e. are those small white prongs (?) meant to be in front of the black plastic upper part of the ADF?)IMG_0810.JPGIMG_0811.JPGIMG_0812.JPGIMG_0813.JPGIMG_0809.JPGIMG_0684.JPGIMG_0685.JPG

Hi @user172127,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It appears that you're dealing with a mechanical issue related to the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) on your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw, which is causing scanning and copying problems.

It looks like a hardware issue.
