Hello,

I am considering purchasing a printer via Amazon from a vendor QIP Distribution Canada.

Do we still get warrnaty from its purchase?

Thanks!

The printer is covered under standard warranty as explained in the Guide:

Partial Excerpt (Chapter 1, Page 2)

HP's limited warranty is valid in any country/region or locality where HP has a support presence for this product and where HP has marketed this product. The level of warranty service you receive may vary according to local standards. HP will not alter form, fit or function of the product to make it operate in a country/region for which it was never intended to function for legal or regulatory reasons.

General Advice:

  • Always read everything you can find before purchase.  This includes the User Guide, the Product Specifications, the Datasheet and even some of the How-to documents.
  • Purchase for overall value, including desired features, duty cycle, maintenance, toner use and availability.

Hi,

My first question would be your location, is it the same power voltage as in Canada?

Laser printers are not dual voltage so that would be a crucial question.

A printer intended for a different voltage would not be covered under any warranty for a such and will get damaged due to connecting to a different power voltage..

Thanks for the extra clarification.

The Warranty does cover this point but only in "legalese" terms :

"...where HP has marketed this product..."

and

"HP will not alter form, fit or function of the product to make it operate in a country/region for which it was never intended to function for legal or regulatory reasons."

In practice, purchasing a product outside of your local region is filled with uncertainties -- not the least of which is the power supply and the power requirements!

Good Catch.
