My printer will not print a page from a website. Instead, I get this error message: "ERROR: limitcheck. OFFENDING COMMAND: imagemask"

What is the problem?

limitcheck is a PostScript error that is typically reported by a device when it runs out of memory processing a job.  It can also be caused by a corrupt print job or corrupt image within a print job.

The first step for troubleshooting is to power cycle the printer.  This will hopefully open up any reserved memory.

If it is a PDF try downloading the PDF and printing it from Preview or Adobe Reader rather than the web browser.

The next best troubleshooting step is to try and print he PDF as an image.

This is a feature of Adobe Reader so you may need to download that to print rather than Preview.

Open the PDF in Adobe Reader and select Print.  Then select the Advanced button in the print dialog.  Under Advanced select Print as Image.

Thanks, IronBadger9, for your helpful reply. But there is one additional wrinkle that maybe you can address. The document I am trying to print comes out fine in the Firefox browser but gives me the "limitcheck" and "imagemask" error message in Safari and Chrome browsers. Why would that be?

Also, power cycling the printer did not help. I didn't try the other options because I could print the document in Firefox with no problems.
