There is one black line printing down the middle of printed pages. I look at the transfer belt and there is a scratch that goes all the way around it. This is no doubt why there is the black line. The transfer belt is maybe 6 months old--relatively new. What could be causing the belt to be scratched?  I'd like to know before replacing with a new belt, and then in a few months, have another scratched belt on my hands. THANKS!

Hi @valiant,

I would recommend that you take out the transfer belt and try unclip it so that you can open it at the point it gathers the excess toner. There you might a bit of rubbish and see what caused it. Or that rubbish is gone by now. Replacing the transfer belt will solve the issue and I don't think that the new one will be scratched as well. Whatever bit was that fell onto the surface of the transfer belt is now done its damage, as it got stuck where the transfer belt cleans its self.

I hope that helps,

Cheers!
