HP laserjet 200

I have a HP 200 laserjet printer and it presently has error 50.2 on the display. I turned it off and back on and the error code remains. I saw a question posted about a similar problem and the person who answered the question said you must also replace the low voltage power supply when you replace the fuser. My question is what happens if you don't replace the LV power supply, just the fuser? Thanks

If you provide the exact model number I can check if there is a technical bulletin note as to why. In most cases, you can replace the fuser without having to replace the power supply.

You have ensured that this device is connected directly to the wall and not through any sort of surge protector or UPS as both these devices and trigger this error.  As well, I always suggest trying an outlet in a different part of the office or house before you start replacing parts.

Thanks repairatrooper for that quick response. I'll double check for those things before I order any parts. It really didn't make sense having to change out the power supplies as the fuser is a consumable component and the cost of the power supplies doesn't make it an economic solution.

I checked the things out you told me to, but it didn't clear the error, so I turned off the printer and unplugged it. I then pushed the power button for about 10 seconds and then plugged it back in and the error was gone.
