Hi  @SandSFL,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how  it can be when your printer suddenly loses Wi-Fi connectivity and won’t let you re-enter the password on the screen.

Could you please share the exact printer model

Here are few steps you can try:

1.Restart Printer and Router

Refreshing both devices often resolves temporary connection issues.

Power off your printer and unplug it for 30 seconds

Restart your Wi-Fi router

Turn the printer back on and wait until it’s ready

2.Use HP Smart App

The HP Smart app can help reconfigure Wi-Fi if the printer screen doesn’t allow password entry.

Download HP Smart on your phone or PC

Open the app and select Set Up a New Printer

Follow prompts to reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi

3.Restore Network Settings

Resetting clears old Wi-Fi details so you can re-enter the password.

On printer control panel: Settings → Network Setup → Restore Network Settings

Confirm reset when prompted

After reset, use HP Smart or printer’s Wi-Fi setup wizard to reconnect

4.Check Router Settings

Ensure your Wi-Fi network is compatible with the printer.

Verify router is broadcasting on 2.4 GHz (many HP printers don’t support 5 GHz)

Make sure MAC address filtering is disabled

Confirm Wi-Fi password hasn’t changed

5.Run Wireless Test Report

This diagnostic helps identify connection problems.

On printer control panel: Settings → Reports → Wireless Test Report

Print the report

Look for error messages or weak signal indicators

Adjust router placement if signal is weak

I hope this helps.
