MFP M227fdw Laser
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

W10-64  1903 -- Uninstalling KB 4522016 from a Sept 24 install allowed me to Print again. I had first Uninstalled KB 4515871 NetFrmwk but No Print. Only after the IE "Fix" KB 4522016 did Print return.

In the AskWoody.com forum KB 4517211 breaks HP Printer, too.

EDIT: 10/2/19  A 2nd 800-Sppt rep fixed my Duplicate Printer entries remotely. Awaiting a Fix by MS for KB 4517211 which remains Delayed in W10-64 Home Queue for Oct 7.

Thanks for the Reply but you're beyond my expertise.

In Control Panel Printers & Drivers I have duplicate Printer Icons with the Checked Printer showing "Unavailable" in Properties and the Unchk'd icon showing "Working Properly" . Unchk'd Hardware Tab shows HP LaserJet MFP M227-M231 (PCL-6 (V4).

In Settings /Devices/Printers-Scanners/HP LaserJet MFP M227-M231 (Default) / Manage .... THAT shows Working Properly. A 2nd Default listing Shows UNconnected.

I still can Print but am lost as to Why the difference in the two Printer sources data & don't want to be a project for you.

Clarify as able or I'll pursue in another forum I use.

What's worse is that KB 4517211 is supposed to break Print, too, and it's in Queue DELAYED with W10-64 HOME til Oct 7.

Thanks again!

How do you have the port configured for the print driver. Windows 10 defaults to using a WSD port for printing and this simply is one of the worst port methods developed in terms of reliability. If printing via network, configure the print driver with a standard TCP/IP printer port and that may solve your problem. Do not let Windows manage your printers.
