HP 3600n
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Bought new HP Pavilion All-in-One. Connected HP 1320 and Canon scanner through a USB 2.0 hub with no problem.

Tried to download HP 3600n drivers from CD.

Failed.

Said I need Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher. (I have that with Windows 10, but that's the error message I get)

Tried to "Add Printer" and it doesn't even find it.

Spent an hour with online "chat" to no avail.

Called Business support and they told me this printer is basically useless as they no longer support it.

Is that correct? Is this perfectly functioning very expensive printer now just a paperweight?

You are out of luck. They made a work around for the 64bit where you could use the vista driver, but I do not think it works with 32bit.

Try to download the Windows Vista driver, right click on the exe file and select properties, under compatibility tab, check for the option run under compatibility mode and select from drop down list, apply for settings and try to install it.

I tried for months to get mine to work on my Windows 10 laptop and on a whim I goolged drivers and found this link: http://www.hpprinterdriver.net/hp-laserjet-3600n-printer-driver/

I clicked on the link for downloading the driver, I installed the software and IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!! It is wired, not wireless, but I've been without a printer for so long that I'll take it. I really hope this helps. I know how frustrating it is to have such a great printer with no support.

Thank you Sprout256, when nothing worked, the http://www.hpprinterdriver.net/hp-laserjet-3600n-printer-driver/  helped.

Without it my computer found the printer as "other device" in bluetooth and other devices section.

Then your shown driver was installed, and it appeared in printers section. After installing DOT4 (you can download it at the same place), everything got fixed and started working.

Laptop with Windows 10 64 bit here..

That link seems to be dead.  Does anyone know where else to get the drivers?

How are you connecting to the printer, USB or Network. If you install as network printer and use the HP UPD driver it should be able to drive this printer.
