LaserJet 100 m175nw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi All, I put in a new router today and my HP printer won't connect.  Router is a Synology rt2600ac.  Printer is admittedly an older HP Model:  LaserJet 100 MFP M175nw.

The printer was discoverable by an older ASUS router I had been using and was working fine as a wireless printer.  But it won't connect with a WPS push button method with the Synology.

Other devices are connecting to the new router just fine.

Is this an incompatibility issue?  Or are there options I can use to get it to connect.  Thanks much.

@Steve7883,

Thank you for your reply, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that the issue still persists after following the steps provided in the previous interaction.

This issue could occur if the printer does not support WPS setup.

Do not worry, we have an alternate way to connect the printer to the network. Please follow the steps provided below:

  1. Insert the software CD into the CD drive.

  2. Follow the on-screen instructions. When prompted, select the Connect through a wireless network option.

  3. Connect the USB cable () to the printer and the computer when prompted. CAUTION: Do not connect the USB cable until the installation program prompts you.

  4. When the installation is complete, print a Configuration Report to make sure that the printer has an SSID name. Follow these steps to print a configuration report:

    1. Load letter or A4 unused, plain white paper into the input tray.

    2. On the printer control panel, press the Setup button ().

    3. Press the Right Arrow button () to select Reports, and then press OK.

    4. Press the Right Arrow button () to select Config Report, and then press OK. The printer prints a configuration report.

  5. When the Configuration Report prints, disconnect the USB cable () from the printer.

Let me know if this works.

You have a good day ahead.

@Steve7883,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are unable to connect your HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw to the wireless network.

This issue could occur if the wireless setup is not correct.

Let's go through a few steps to resolve this issue.

If your wireless router supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), this is the simplest way to set up the product on a wireless network.

1. Press the WPS button on your wireless router.

2. Press and hold the Wireless button on the product (printer) control panel for two seconds. Release the button when the wireless light starts blinking.

3. Wait up to two minutes while the product establishes a network connection with the wireless router

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: Setting Up the Printer for a Wired or Wireless Network for the HP LaserJet Pro 100 Color MFP Printer...

Let me know how this works.

Thanks for your response.  The WPS push button method hasn't worked for me (see my original message).    I attempted this a few times.  Would you have any thoughts about alternatives?  Or perhaps something else I can due so that the push button approach will work?

I also attempted to re-install the drivers, etc. via a wired connection and pulling the install program off the web.

Thank you for any further thoughts.

It worked!   I had re-loaded everything prior, but selected the wrong option.  Selecting the wireless option, as you suggested, worked.  Thank you very much!
