The folllowing are recent errors in either Chrome or Safari when accessing my printer web server on a secure (HTTPS-enabled) page. ( Regular http access works fine. )
Https access used to work in previous versions of either Chrome and/or Safari and I assume new security improvemnts is causing these page errors.
How can I get either browser to access my printer web server scured enabled pages ?

192.168.2.116 normally uses encryption to protect your information. When Google Chrome tried to connect to 192.168.2.116 this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. This may happen when an attacker is trying to pretend to be 192.168.2.116, or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the connection. Your information is still secure because Google Chrome stopped the connection before any data was exchanged.
You cannot visit 192.168.2.116 right now because the website sent scrambled credentials that Google Chrome cannot process. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later.

Ignore HTTPS and use HTTP instead.
Getting your browser to recognize HTTPS for the printers Embedded Web Server requires the management of Certificates. Its usually not worth the effort to setup and manage this feature for a printer.
If you want a different work around you can modify the settings in your browser to allow you to proceed:

You may click the "visit this website" link at the end of the warning to proceed and access the printer webpage, it should then display with no issues.
This is expected with any such level printer to display such a warning as the local site is secured but not signed.

Clicking the "visit this website" does not proceed and access the printer webpage.
I end up in a continuous loop.
It pops-up the following and then I click Visit Website:
Then it asks to update my certificate settings:
Once Update settings is pressed I get the same page again : This connection is not private.

Hi,
Try clicking Network from the top menu of the shown page.
Under Advanced Settings click on HTTPS Redirection, select Do Not Redirect to HTTPS and press OK.
If you cannot access the tab try accing it by manually entering the following address:
http://YOUR PRINTER IP ADDRESS/#hId-HTTPSPage
Now change the settigns accordingly, restart the printer and check for any change.
May you see any difference?
If not, may you have any security software on your Mac?
Please also try from other browser such as Chrome or Firefox and check.

I checked and :
Do Not Redirect to HTTPS
was already ON.
And I wonder why it is still redirecting to HTTPS despite the 'Do Not Redirect to HTTPS' control being ON?
It doesn't seem to have any effect.
PS: Just to make sure I did toggle 'Do Not Redirect to HTTPS' from ON to OFF to see if that would change anything but it always redirects to HTTPS.
Also, I did try it out on both Chrome and Safari.

Could you please clarify if you use any security software on your Mac? e.g. Eset, McAfee, etc
