need to know if HP laser or inkjet printer can be transported by air
and should it be with carry-on or checked luggage???

HP sells some portable inkjet printers and those would be much better for traveling.
Air transport will not hurt a LaserJet printer, but you should remove the toner cartridge and put it in a plastic bag in a padded container.
Whenever possible when you are moving a LaserJet printer more than just across the room you should remove the toner cartridge, or cartridges if it's a color machine.

is there a model of HP printer you would suggest for macbook air 10.7.5, ether inkjet or laser
only want a simple printer..even just black, wireless not really important to me....
friend has a HP1012, however only compatible up to OS X 10.1
