Hello,
Here's one for you :))
II have a HP LaserJet M1522nf (monochrome) with the following problem:
scanning and copying results in a greyscale band on pages as in the images attached.
Info:
- printing works perfect
- both ADF and Flatbed generate the greyscale band on both copy and scan
- I have cleaned all the glasses / parts multiple times (although as stated above the problem is identical for both ADF and Flatbed) without the slightest improvement, just stays the same
- I have changed power cord and tried multiple sockets in multiple locations
- I have done a factory settings reset from the menu and a NVRAM reset procedure
- I have upgraded to latest firmware
- I have tried on multiple systems / computers / drivers / scanning softwares
Still no change in the copying and scanning result.
Anything else I can try?
Please see below result from
1 - blank copy with ADF
2 - blank copy with Flatbed
(Please ignore the horizontal line at the bottom of the page. It was an error when scanning on another device.)
Thank you,
Mayer.

i'd have to imagine the lamp or optical unit in the scanner assembly is defective. depending on how technical you deem yourself, you could try ordering an optical unit or entire scanner/adf assembly but cost of that might reach/exceed what you paid for it. Another thing you could try, with no promises of success, would be to access the formatter board behind the left side cover and remake the scanner connections to the formatter board.
