HP ENVY Photo 7858 All-in-One Printer

I removed the document feeder on top of the printer and can't get it back on?  Any solutions?

Hello @Trustatry, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

You can reattach the document tray/feeder by gently bending it in the middle to shorten the distance between the notches and inserting it into the feeder slots.

Steps to Reattach

  • Curve or flex the plastic document tray inward in the middle. This action brings the side pegs and notches closer together.
  • Align with the slots: Guide the compressed pegs into the designated track or mounting holes on the feeder assembly.
  • Release the tray: Let go of the bend so the pegs pop outward and lock securely into the "C"-shaped clips or notches.
  • Check movement: Lift and lower the attached piece gently to confirm it snaps into place and moves freely without falling off.

Have a great day!

I'm an HP Employee.
