99 percent of 49 errors are caused by outdated firmware. Please go to www.support.hp.com and download the newest firmware. The easiest way to update firmware is to extract the BDL file from the downloaded zip file to a usb thmbdrive. Remove any usb or network cables from the unit and restart. When the printer comes to ready, go the the device maintenance menu and select firmware upgrade. When prompted, insert the thumb drive with the file into the usb port on the printer and then click ok when prompted to select an upgrade file. Firmware will be updated and then printer will restart. Once printer restarts you can remove the usb thumb drive and then reconnect the data cable. You may need to clear any pending jobs on your print queue after this as the may have corrupted.
