When printing file folder labels on Avery 75366 labels, the printer is leaving a gray residue with every print.

This is to the point that I may have to throw a half a sheet of perfectly good labels away because the non-printed ones are

all gray.  I've tried cleaning the printer but doesn't seem to help.  Does anyone else out there experience this problem and

what is the fix?

There are a couple of questions?

1. Are you reusing partially printed sheets of labels? If yes, that might be part of the problem as we have found that sections that have already had labels removed from tend to attract toner and smudge it. One work around is to start printing at the last label so that the missing labels are after printing, not before.

2. Do you have the paper type set for labels when you are printing? Telling the printer is it printing labels makes it slow down and improves print quality.

3. Is this an HP cartridge or 3rd party toner cartridge? The toners are not identical and it can make a difference.

Answering question #1 - yes, I thought of that and yes we are.  However, the paper is graying from the very first print.

I've turned the labels around so trying to start with a new label at the top but doesn't seem to help.

Question #2 - yes, using label setting for printing

Question #3 - yes, using HP toner cartidge  78A

I've just cleaned the paper path again.  I looked on line some suggested cleaning transfer roller.  Doesn't seem to be a suggestion for this printer?

Thank you for your help and suggestions.
