Hi,
I afradi the answer is No.
The printer is no longer supported on later operating system for a long time, Windows XP was the latest supported operating system for the printer.

Shlomi

There is no driver for Windows 10. However some users (including myself) have been successful using the XP driver with Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.
One user has written a very helpful tutorial at http://laserjet1000.esy.es/
Perhaps some user can let us know if the same procedure will work with Windows 10.

My LJ 1000 has been the most reliable workhorse for many years, while various other Samsung, Canon, and even HP printers and 3 computers have come and gone to the tip as a waste of time, effort and money. Because of this experience, I have subsequently bought HP printers and promoted HP to friends looking to buy printers.
So I want to keep using the 1000 on my new Win10 computer. The driver disc supplied with the printer unfortunately failed as predicted.
HP used to be proud of the quality and reliability of its products. But not apparently any more.
There is a community of loyal HPLJ users who are being pissed off by HP's attitude to people who want to use its products.
It cannot be beyond the wit of man (except HP of course) to create a driver that will make the 1000 work with Win10.

Hello @js6seaj @cvhmanchester
Available drivers can be found here
As well you could try universal printing drivers

Hi,
I can confirm it working on windows 10 32bits.
I've succeded by installing Win XP drivers :
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=45675&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=228
They won't install at first as you'll need to reboot in advanced mode and disable driver signature enforcement.

To all. If you don't want to throw your LJ1000 away and you have a 64 bit system then one option is:
1) Install Ubuntu as a dual boot OS (I have the Long Term Stable v16.04 on my Lenovo Yoga 3).
2) Install the HP Linux app (HPLIP).
3) Install your printer and save the planet.
Side effects of this may include dropping Windows as your main OS (Ubuntu is a Linux based OS and shares much in common with Apple Mac OS).
If you are worried about not being able to use Microsoft Office you can run the web app versions of Word etc and print to your local printer - your LaserJet 1000.
The Ubuntu Community and HP Linux Communities are both very helpful.
