hp laserjet 1536dnf mfp
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

While printing a 30 page document, the printer suddenly stopped printer and the orange lights started flashing with a warning message in the display that stated "jam in output bin".

I turned off the printer and opened the cartridge door and removed the cartridge to check for jammed paper.  There didn't seem to be any paper jammed, so I returned the cartridge and closed the cartridge door.

I turned the printer back on and the display stated "jam in cartridge area". I opened the cartridge door and removed the cartridge to check for jammed paper again but didn't see any and returned everthing back into its original position.

Please let me know how to fix the printer so that the "jam in cartridge area" message is removed and the printer functions normally.

Thanks.

@Flo88

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand, your printer is giving an error message "Open door and clear jam"

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue. Click the link: https://hp.care/2MdbqxP

Solution one: Clear the jam and print a cleaning page

Solution two: Reset the printer, check the print settings, and print a cleaning page

Let me know how this goes,

Have a great day 🙂

Cheers 🙂
