Hello,
I have recently updated my macbook air to Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6 and I tried to add my HP laserjet 2018 printer (I have also deleted all previously added printers to my Macbook), but my printer is not listed. I have asked for hp support via virtual chat helper, and the solutions were not helpful, nor was the software available upon downloading the Easy HP Start file. I got an error:
"We were not able to automatically locate any software options for this product. Please go to the HP website and search for product solutions there".
So here I am! Help !

Hi,
Your printer is not compatible with Mac computers, therefore you experience the problem:
As a workaround you may install an alternate driver as follows:
- Connect the printer to your Mac and ensure it is power on and ready.
- Download and install the following drivers from apple:
https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1888?locale=en_US - Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the plus sign and select the listed 1018 printer.
- Within the Use drop-down menu click on Select Printer Software.
- Locate and select the HP Laserjet 1022 model and press Add.
Now try printing with the newly created print queue.
