I've been printing to my laserjet 4250 over my home wireless network using the printer's TCP/IP address and both the PS and PCL6 drivers for a year or so.

A  couple of weeks ago my partner's PC stopped being able to access the printer and got a Printer Offline error, but I was still able to print from my PC. Now my PC shows the same error and typing the printer's TCP/IP address into a browser doesn't reach it either.

However, using a brand new laptop I can access the printer via it's TCP/IP address, and the printer works fine via USB.

So it looks like our PCs are somehow blocking TCP/IP access to the printer.

Please can anyone help?

Thanks

Sam

Thanks.

I was really stupid - turns out we'd all accidentally gone onto the guest network, and the printer's on the home network.

Do you get a response if you use the ping command from the command prompt window?  Sometimes the printer settings get corrupted and you need to perform a cold reset to get it working properly. Also ensure that the printer driver is using a TCP/IP port and not a WSD port.
