I am trying to use my gmail account to allow the printer to send scans to other users via email
In my gmail account I have
1) turned off two factor authentication
2) enabled less secure logins
I can talk to the printer via the embedded web server from my mac running High Sierra ( 10.13.1)
in set up 'scan to email ' i have specified
smtp server: smtp.gmail.com
smtp port: 587
always use secure connection: checked
in the authentication section i have specified
Server requires Authentication checked
and have carefully entered my gmail user id and password
After I have completed the form I save it.
When I attempt scan to email i always get
username or password is incorrect.
My ubiquity router uses the same credentials ( and ssmtp ) to send email to me via gmail.
I can work around this problem by scanning to a network folder and then emailing the result to the target, but
i paid for a direct scan to email...
Does anyone have this working?
My firmware is 20170719
Thanks for any insights...
Jerry

Thanks for the response. I have reviewed the post.
Please try these steps:
On the front panel of the printer, touch the wireless icon. Select the Wireless ON to get the wireless summary. Make a note of your IP address.
1. On your computer open an internet browser and enter the printer's IP address in the address bar. This will bring up the Embedded Web Server page (EWS).
2. At the top of the page select Networking.
3. From the left-hand side, select Network Identification.
4. Under the section for DNS, under Primary (IPv4) enter 8.8.8.8, under Secondary (IPv4) enter 8.8.4.4.
5. Select Apply at the bottom of the screen.
6. Turn of web services and enable the web services again.
If still unable to connect, try entering 209.244.0.3 for the Primary (IPv4), and 209.244.0.4 for the Secondary (IPv4)
This link: http://hp.care/2j802WT shows you how to disable and enable Web services.
Now try setting up scan to email again. This should fix the issue.
Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
