Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I came across your post and would like to assist.
I understand that you have an HP DeskJet 3755 All-in-One Printer. I read that the printer is in an error state and does not print. You have tried to restart the printer and that dod not help either. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.
To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Did any hardware changes take place on the printer (paper jam, cartridge replacement, etc.)?
- Do any lights blink on the laptop?
Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
- Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
- Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
- The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
- Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.
Please refer to this HP document if you see any blinking lights on your HP printer.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂

Hi @SusanLamoureux
Thanks for your message. I took the steps you suggested but the problem persists.
Prior to the problem, there were no hardware changes to the printer, no paper jams.etc. I think I did replace an ink cartridge. I use only HP cartridges made for this printer.
Currently:
The on/off button is steady on and the wi-fi button shows a blue light.
The printer is plugged into a wall outlet and there are paper and ink in the printer.
The printer did power on by itself when I reconnected the power cord.
But no printing happens
I really appreciate your interest in helping, but please don't feel obligated. I think there is just something wrong with this printer. We bought it through a reseller, HSN. And I think that is the reason it is defective. Unfortunately, HSN held it for a long time before we purchased it, so by the time we received it, it was already out of HP warranty even though we've had it only a few months.
Thanks for your willingness to help,
Andrea
