Hey there! @printer20, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!
I understand you are able to make scan and copy but have issues printing from your printer.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
Is the printer connected by a wired or a wireless connection?
Have you tried printing from a different application?
Do you get any errors while printing from your printer?
I appriciate your efforts for sharing the pictures and trying out few steps before reaching out to us.
Under printer and fax right click on the second printer in the list and set the printer to default and try printing again.
Try the steps recommended below.
Restart the computer, printer, and router
Restart the computer, printer, and router to resolve any error states present during the printer setup.
NOTE:
The following steps temporarily disconnect network and Internet connections, and require restarting your computer. Complete any tasks or downloads in progress before continuing.
-
Disconnect the power cord from the router.
-
Turn off the printer.
-
Close all running programs on your computer, including the HP software installation window, then shut down the computer.
-
Reconnect the power cord to the router, then wait for the Internet activity light to display a normal connected status.
-
Turn on the printer.
-
Turn on the computer.
-
Try installing the HP driver and software again.
Temporarily disable firewall software on the computer.
Also, assign a static IP to your printer and check if it helps.
- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
- Click 'Apply'.
If the issue still persists uninstall the printer software from the root level and install the full feature printer software. (Windows Only)
In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
Select your HP printer.
Select Uninstall.
In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
Click on Drivers tab.
Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.
Select OK.
Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
Close Devices and Printers.
