Not sure if i am in the right message board but here goes.  I work in the service department of a car dealership. I have 4 computers hardwired to our network. I just purchased a laserjet pro mfp m426fdw 4 in 1 printer ad connected it to our wifi system because there is no available ethernet jack to link it to the main network. Is there a way to allow my 4 computers to send information to this wireless printer?

If you connected to your wireless network, then run a network report from the printer and look for the ip address of the wireless connection. If one is listed use it to load the printer using the add printer, local printer, create port and in the drop down choose standard tcp/ip and then follow the onscreen directions. You can also try loading the disk that came with the printer and see if it will find the printer and load it for you.

Okay. so i followed your instructions and got to a screen that said it could not find the printer on the network. I loaded the disk and followed the simlar steps and again, network product not found. I think my problem is that my network and my wifi are 2 separate systems. Does that make sense? if it does, how can I get a printer with an assigned ip address from our wifi router to communicate with my pc's on our main network? Its a ew building so everyone is iffy about modifying anything, but I think it will be a lot easier to just get an addition ethernet jack put in that I could connect the printer to and all my issues would go away.

btw. thanks for the help so far

I would just go out and get a small 5 port switch and short cable to connect one of the ports from your router to the switch. I would then connect the device I removed from the router to the new switch and connect the printer to the new switch and it should find a local tcp address and you should now be able to print to it. 5 Port switches are very very cheap.
