HP LJ Pro MFP M130
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello, I am having trouble installing an HP M130 printer using a USB cable connecting it to a Lenovo ThinkPad T470.  The user has a docking station and none of the usb ports will recognize that the printer is plugged in. Tried plugging the cable directly into a usb port on the laptop and still same thing.  Downloaded the latest drivers for M130. Logged in as local admin and still did not work for me. I tried the wireless option and that seems to work but since we use VPN it doesn't work when logged into VPN plus wireless is not supported for us.  Any help would be appreciated.

@JavaGirl

Thank you for joining the HP Support Community.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Did you try with an alternate USB cable?

Try connecting the printer to a different computer and check if it works.

If the issue persists, I would personally suggest you contact our HP phone support for one on one interaction.

Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp

Step 2. Sign in / sign in as a guest

Step 3. Enter the product number or select to auto detect

Step 4. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 5. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number and phone number appear.

Keep me posted on further assistance. Hope that helps!

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Have a great day ahead!
