I purchased a Macbook Air with Sierra OS two weeks ago and have been attempting to install my old printer (purchased more than 8 years ago). The ink cartriges are new, no paper jams, followed installation procedures. When I attempt to print, the paper does not feed therefore no print out. But when jobs completed is viewed, it refects that the material was printed.
What is weird is if the same printer is connected to my older Macbook Pro (around 5 years old), it prints without any problems
What can I do to correct this?

Hello, @crestar – Hope you are well 🙂
Thanks for reaching out to the HP Forums! I’m here to help!
Going through your post, I see that you are facing issues while printing from your MAC. Follow the steps listed below to try and reset the print systems and to add the printer:
- Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
- Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
- Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
- Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
- Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
- Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
- Restart your computer and then go back to System preferences – Printers and scanners.
- Click the “Add button” (+).
- Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer. Do not select an HP Fax driver.
- Click “Print Using...” or “Use”, and then select Secure AirPrint or AirPrint. Alternatively, you may select the name of your printer if available in that list.
Let me know how that goes!
Good luck 🙂
