Laserjet P3005dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

On my Laserjet P3005dn the error message "13.20.00 paper jam in the rear bin" will not go away although there was never a paper jam. As a result, the printer keeps flashing that error message and does not print.

Hi @DrCodero,

I reckon it would be the same issue as with a P3015dn. So I suggest you to do the following:

1) Remove tray-2

2) Press a green "button" to drop the duplexer

3) Carefully put your hand above the dropped duplexer (take care of the sensor flags) and push the assy upwards with good strength. This will make the power supplpy sit better and make proper contacts again.

4) Push the duplexer up again and insert tray-2 back.

I hope that will help you,

Cheers!

Thank you for your good intentions. However, I do not know what the "assy" that you refer to it; I have no intention of causing the duplexer to drop, much less to put my hand above it; and I do not understand what the duplexer has to do with the error message "13.20.00 jam paper in the rear bin" , which began after I removed the toner and put it back in.

a 13.20 error is typically due to a defective or blocked sensor. theres probably a piece of paper or something else blocking one of the sensors in the paper path or near the back door.  you can open the back door and look for a jam/blockage.  Does the error come up immediately if you turn the printer off and then on again?  if so, def. a blocked or defective sensor.

I haven't worked on a P3005dn before, but if they are similar then my suggestion will solve your problem.

I have fixed numerous P3015dn's with that trick. By "assy" I mean the bottom side of the power supply which you could have access if you have your duplexer in the "dropped" position. Doing so (pushing the power supply upwards) will engange the sensors that give you this false error again.

I hope this helps,

Cheers!
