I am trying to print a copy of an online statement and my printer prints the first page and then stops.  I don't see any error message anywhere.  It is connected wirelessly.  Thank you.

The printer may have run into content it cannot translate correctly.

What?  Printer software must translate everything you want to print onto paper into "printer language".  Some content translates easily, other content not-so-much.  Banks, those sites that provide tickets, and coupon sites, in particular, tend to create content that is not always understood by the printer.

What to do?

Ideas

  • Depending on the webpage format > Download the content onto your computer as a PDF file - print as image using Adobe Reader / Foxit

  • Easiest of all:  Use Snip to create an image of the content > save the image > print the saved image using your printer software.

  • Use a different browser - for example, if you are using Firefox, try Chrome.
  • Check your website for "supported browser" information -- use a supported browser interface

  • Use a newer version of Internet Explorer and print "As selected on screen"

Open the webpage in IE >

Left-Click and hold > highlight / select the area on the screen you wish to include in your print >

Click File > Print Preview >
Change "As laid out on scree" TO "As selected on screen" >

Set other options and print

  • Enable cookies in your browser

  • Be careful of having enabled too much of a good thing >> if you block ALL Popups, some content on your webpage may not be visible and / or available to the printer.   You may need to loosen the restrictions temporarily.

  • Allow the website to use its own fonts -- this may or may not help depending on the content

Thank you for your prompt response.    I printed it as a pdf and also discovered that my ad blocker was blocking content that I wanted on other sites based on your suggestion.

You are welcome.

Yeah, I am a fiend for blocking stuff -- it comes back to bite me on occasion.  Smiling.

Happy Printing!
