Laserjet P2055dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I appears that a recent Windows 10 update did my Laserjet P2055dn in...   It will no longer print.  There are no error messages other than the print job failed.

Things I have done to try to get it to work:

Download latest drivers from HP.

Uninstall printer & Reinstall

Uninstal all HP software

Rollback Windows 10 update.

Run Windows printer troubleshooter

Run HP Print and Scan doctor

Any other suggestions before I go and retire it as a paperweight...?

Thanks,

Larry

Can you print from the reports menu on the printer using the printer's control panel? If you can and you are connected using usb try another usb port. If using ethernet check the ip address of the printer as it may have changed.

Hi dungleviet,

Tried the suggestions from your post, still not working.

The printer can print reports and the PC can print to other printers.

Is the printer connected using usb or network?

USB.  I've uninstalled the drivers, disconnected the printer, rebooted, installed the drivers an waited for it to request the printer to be plugged in...  Still no joy...

The issue could be the usb ports. Windows 10 supports usb 3.0 and your printer is 2.0. See the attached document from hp and go to the usb section to see if you can make changes to your usb settings to fix the issue.

Older Optiplex 380, no USB 3 ports.  Running Win 10 32 bit.  Standard BIOS.....

Have tried different USB ports with no luck....

Did you try the other items in the article. Also you should not have to wait for the software to ask you to plug in the printer. You should uninstall the printer and disconnect the usb cable. Now turn the computer off and then back on. When the computer has completely booted, plug in the usb cable and turn on the printer. The computer should see the printer as being attached now and attempt to find and load the drivers. Does the computer see the printer when you plug it in, yes or no. In other words you should get a message of found new hardware when the usb cable is plugged in and the printer powered on.

Recently I have exactly the same problem: 49err 3D910C8.

I have tried EVERYTHING POSSIBLE for over 4 hours now.

My printer is not recognised and there is NO WAY to repair this.

Also the older driver 18849 does not work.
