Hi Laltobelli,
You wrote:
“Product Name: Laserjet P2055dn
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)”
But after that you wrote:
“Older Optiplex 380, no USB 3 ports. Running Win 10 32 bit. Standard BIOS.....”
So, I think you need download and reinstall exactly version 6.0.0.18449 for PCL6 32 bit or 64 bit.
If using Windows 10 32 bit, you download file “upd-pcl6-x32-6.0.0.18849.exe”.
If using Windows 10 64 bit, you download file “upd-pcl6-x64-6.0.0.18849.exe”.
After, retry exactly full steps in my previous post.
If your printer still work, you can try with “upd-ps-x32-6.0.0.18849.exe” file or “upd-ps-x64-6.0.0.18849.exe” file.
Hope this helps.

Hi JWVK,

"Recently I have exactly the same problem: 49err 3D910C8. I have tried EVERYTHING POSSIBLE for over 4 hours now.
My printer is not recognised and there is NO WAY to repair this. Also the older driver 18849 does not work."
I saw exactly the same problem "49 Err xxxxxxx Turn Off then On" with 03 printers HP Laserjet P2055d in my office when upgrade to Windows 8.1 (64 bit) and then Windows 10 (64 bit).
I uninstalled and then reinstalled with UPD PCL 6 version 6.0.0.18449 and they working fine now.
If you running Windows 64 bit, you try see and do exactly steps in my post at:
or:
Note: If you using Windows 32 bit, you need download and install with “upd-pcl6-x32-6.0.0.18849.exe” file.
If your printer still 49 Err, you can try with UPD for PostScrip (PS): download and install with “upd-PS-x32-6.0.0.18849.exe” or “upd-PS-x64-6.0.0.18849.exe” file.
Good luck!

Thanks for your help.
The MSDos command is very helpfull, but one driver (HP Universal Printing PCL 6) is refusing to be removed.
In my previous attempts to solve the driver problem I have assigned printer port LPT 1 to the HP PCL 6....
Is there any command to remove HP PCL 6 from port 1?

Hi, Laltobelli
Firstly, remove cache from your pc, as you know temporary internet files are stored. Now when you install p2055 driver, again and again. it's not working for your printer the reason behind cache temporary files storage, remove all these files and then install p2055 printer driver its will fine.
