I get a very persistent pop-up: printtool is trying to modify the printer settings.....

What printer settings must be modified ? How do I get rid of this pop-up?

Best place to start is an uninstall and reinstall of the latest printer software from support.hp.com.

Not sure what printtool is but if you dont know or dont need it then I would suggest finding and removing that application next.  If that app is familliar then consider contacting the app manufacturer for more details.

Otherwise a little googling may shed soem light on the situation too:

Thanks very much. It appears that printtool may not be associated with the HP printer. Instead it appears to be a separate app, maybe associated with Adobe. The problem started when I created a new user account on my Mac and the link to jamf points in that same direction. I'll investigate further and in the event that I find more background and a solution, I'll post the answer here. Thanks again.
