I have windows 10 OS.  All of a sudden whenever I send print jobs, (wifi) it shows 'printing-error' and the job sits in the queue.  I have done everything suggested by HP as well as other sites. The printer is connected to my desktop in the basement.

You want to check the driver on your PC. There is a good chance that the port that was configured is a WSD port. These do not provide reliable communication. Configure the printer with a static IP address by either reserving an address on your router or manually program an address, and then configure the port on the driver manually with a standard TCP/IP address using the static address of the printer.

Sorry I didn't explain properly.  The setup is like this: My son has the desktop with Ethernet installed and the printer is attached to it.  I access the printer via wifi.  It was working fine until a few days ago.  I am not aware of any software updates.
