I have a surface pro 3 running Windows 8.1. My printer is HP Deskjet 1050. I printed a document, but the printer queue said the document was still printing. I tried to delete the document, and the queue says it's deleting. I have deleted all the documents in the queue. That one still remains, says it's deleting. I have restarted Surface, powered down the printer, disconnected it, and then restarted and connected everything. Still deleting. I have removed the printer as a device, but when I add it back, it comes with a print queue that is still deleting that one document.
I am up to date on all updates.
What do I do? I can't print anything else until this is gone from the queue.

Hi,
Try the following.
From the Desktop, hold down the Windows key and press R. Into the Run window, type services.msc and hit enter.
Browse down to the print spooler service, right click it and select Properties then click on the Stop button.
Now browse to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS and delete the job inside this folder - You may need to click a prompt to gain the appropriate authority to open the PRINTERS folder.
Restart the computer and you should find the document has been removed.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Deskjet 1050A printer. I understand that you are unable to delete document from print queue, you have already followed the above post and done some preliminary troubleshooting.
Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,
- Run print scan doctor to fix this issue.
- If that does not work,
- Uninstall the printer driver from the device manager.
- Install the inbuilt driver.
Click here and follow the document to install the inbuilt driver.
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers.

I have this issue almost EVERY time when I try to print something. What is wrong with your product? I have a HP Deskjet 1050a and almost every time I am done printing, it will somehow freeze and then the next time when I try to print something I will see that there is something in "queue" when it is already been printed and of course when I try to delete it, it freezes. I am seriously thinking about switching printers. HP printers have been terrible!
