Hi @rajeev47 ,

If your HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4104dw printer is not printing and is making unusual sounds, there might be several underlying causes. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and resolve these issues:

  1. Check for Paper Jams:

    • Ensure there are no paper jams in any of the printer trays or inside the printer. Open the printer's front and rear doors to check for any obstructions.
  2. Examine the Toner Cartridges:

    • Remove and reinsert the toner cartridges. Ensure they are inserted correctly and consider checking if they are genuine HP cartridges, as incompatible cartridges might affect performance. Visit HP SureSupply to verify cartridge compatibility.
  3. Inspect Paper Tray:

    • Confirm that there is paper loaded in the tray. Adjust the paper guides to fit the correct paper size and make sure the stack is not overfilled beyond the tray's capacity.
  4. Check Printer Status:

    • Look at the printer's control panel for any error messages or icons that indicate issues, such as paper or cartridge-related warnings.
  5. Power Cycle the Printer:

    • Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and wait for about 30 seconds. Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on. This can sometimes resolve unexpected issues.
  6. Printer Maintenance:

    • Perform a basic check of the printer hardware. Make sure all components are securely connected and installed.
