Product: LaserJet M477fdw
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just had to reinstall my printer software.  That task is complete but the printer now transmits an unsecured setup network

HP-Setup>cb-M477 LaserJet

 

I cannot find any reference to this in my documentation [or in my notes about previous installations].

 

How do I turn it off?

The network called

HP-Setup>cb-M477 LaserJet

turned itself off after 2 hours.

 

It was apparently triggered by use of HP Auto Wireless Connect and/or the HP Wireless Setup Wizard.

- These facilities are not referred to in the user documentation

- There is some explanation, including about its 2 hour lifespan, in Wireless Printing Center - HP UK

Do you mean the printer is transmitting a wireless network name?  That would fit your description of "unsecured" and "setup". A screenshot might help us explain what you are talking about if you can manage to attach one for us.

 

See page 49 to disable the WiFi Direct network name feature:
