I have tried everything including HP smart and downloading driver

The printer does not communicate with my laptop or the scanner

The modum is active and no issues with any other product

cannot print from laprop or mobile device

No issues with the cartridge

printer model MFP M227

RESET DOES NOT HELP, RESTORE DEFAULT DOES NOT HELP

SHOULD I JUST BUY NEW??

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Based on the HP guidance provided, try these HP-supported checks first:
 

  • Use HP Support Assistant on your Windows laptop. It includes printer troubleshooting tools, Fixes & Diagnostics, and guided help through the HP Virtual Agent for printer problems on Windows-based computers. HP Support Assistant | HP® Support.
     
  • In HP Support Assistant, make sure the printer is detected. You can also use Add device so it scans for printers on your network or lets you add one manually.
     
  • HP Support Assistant can also check for printer updates and notify you when one is available.
     
  • If the printer is not printing from Windows, HP’s general printer guidance says to check:

    • printer is not paused or offline
       
    • printer is set as the default printer
       
    • Restart the print spooler
       
    • Clear the print queue
       
    • Restart the computer
       
  • For network/connection issues, HP guidance recommends:

    • print and review the wireless network test report/network configuration
       
    • Make sure firewall/security software is not blocking the connection
       
    • Reset network settings and reconnect the printer if needed
