We have a HP laserjet model MFP M277dw, we love it but have been having a problem with what looks like little pink flies down one side of the paper when it is printed, is there a setting to turn that off or what is causing it, thanks

Hello @lindanz
There will be only 2 parts that could possible generate that issue
either the fuser or the actual toner well now that I think about it maybe the transfer belt
try running 2 cleaning pages from the service menu and then 3 color calibrations to see if it will solve the issue
Swapping toners will be a good idea even if you have old ones to isolate issue to printer or ITB

to me, that looks like the magenta cartridge is what is causing this. There is some type of contaminate or flaw with the imaging drum of that cartridge. The reason you are seeing the repeating defect is that as the drum in the cartridge spins around that spot is picking up toner when it shouldn't. Either some type of contaminate has gotten onto the drum, or the photoconductive chemical coating the drum has gotten messed up somehow and the charge wont erase off the drum causing it to continually pick up toner each time it spins.

so to fix that means we need to buy a magneta toner or is there something we can do to fix it, it is still under Warranty so would the toners be covered as they are still the original
Edit to add that the last time we had a clean print without those on the side was end of May 2016
