HP Officejet Pro X576dw MFP
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Moved printer to another location in the same area and on the same network. I'm getting the error message, "Load Plain, Legal (8.5x13) paper in Tray 1 and touch OK to continue.". I've reset the printer and tried printing from another PC but the issue persists. The print jobs are still fine but you have to walk to the printer each time and hit the OK button, cannot print multiple documents at the same time because of this issue.

Thanks for any help,

Jim

This is caused by one of three things:

1- you are sending a print job that requires media that is not installed in the printer, in this case legal size.

2- the paper settings on the printer are not set correctly if trays have manual paper size settings on the control panel or if the printer is a high enough model then the paper detection switches are reporting the wrong size. If you print a config page you will see what paper the printer thinks it has installed.

3- you are sending the print job to the MP tray and not Tray 1, while they are the same tray on HP the way they work is different. MP tray waits to print and Tray 1 acts like a regular paper tray.
