Sometimes after printing several pages I get an error message "Printer Door Open" and it isn't open. I realize my printer is several years old but it still work good otherwise.  Is there a solution to this message.

Your printer has sensors that detect teh status of certain parts.  If the printer thinks a door is open, but it really isnt, then that sensor is defective.  The only fix is to swap or repair the sensor.

There are many kinds of sensors on a printer.  Most commonly the sensors for doors have a mechanism that needs to be pressed down to register the door as closed.  You could jam something into that sensor to fool the printer as a quick or temporary fix.  But if the sensor is bad, it will have to be replaced.

Individual part numbers can be found in Service Manuals, but something like a door sensor might only be available as an accessory to a larger part.  In that case it might be easier to bring it into a printer repair technician and ask for a quote then to fix it on your own.  They might have an extra sensor or another quick fix that will allow you to keep the current printer for a while longer.

Thank you. I will see if I can find a technician in my area.
