It all depends on what you are looking for. How many pages are you printing each month? Do you want just a printer or a MFP with a scanner? Do you need to duplex print or is single sided ok? network or USB connection?

If you are looking for a low volume, small black and white printer, the M402 is great.

If this is for a small business that has multiple users and print a fair amount each month- the M501 would be a wise choice.

These would be the closest to your old 3010.

I'm a fan of laser printers in general. Although more expensive at the initial purchase- in the long run I feel they are more reliable, durable, and cheaper to operate than an ink jet.

I am not a HP employee. I am a service tech on these forums researching topics and offering my best guess to aide in your troubleshooting.
