Product: MFP M29w printer
Operating System: macOS 10.13 High Sierra

I purchased this printer October 2020.  It, of course, came with a toner cartridge.  Come December 2020 I ran low of toner so I replaced it thinking  - well the original must not have held much toner.  I print one crossword sheet per day and a few recipes. 

Low usage.  Now it is March 2021 and the toner ran out.  I figure I got  100ish copies from a toner cartridge rated for 1000.  WTHeck.   Anyone know what could be going on??  too expensive to run for me!!

I am curious, can you post a sample of what you are printing normally? It seems odd that you are getting a warning that fast but keep in mind the thousand page rating is based on a double spaced typed sheet (roughly 5% coverage) and it is very easy to go way above that.
