HP laserjet 1012
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I am unable to install my laserjet 1012 on a windows 7 laptop (not sure if 32 or 64 bit).  Under Driver Software Installation I get message that Device driver software was not successfully installed. Get Red X next to Generic IEEE 1284.4 printing support. Green check next to other two indicating ready to use.

Hi,

I afraid the printer is incompatible and not supported on Windows 7, therefore you experience issues as there are no drivers available.

You may find the chart below as a reference, search for 1012:

Everything is correct if there are no drivers available for the windows it might be end of life for the printer.

Maybe yoy can try to install a nother driver like 1018,1020 and rename theprinter after installation. This might work but don,t put hope on it.

Good luck.
