Officejet pro 8620
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Officejet pro 8620 is printing, copying and scanning with 2 vertical lines down middle of paper.  Test prints don't show this.  At one time i was a HP quick ink? client but canceled some time ago and purchased not HP cartridges but that was months ago and vertical lines just started now.

If prints are clear then the problem is with the scanner. Most scanner problems are caused by dirt or contamination on the scanner glass. Even tiny specs of adhesive from post it notes can block the light and cause a scanning defect. Clean the glass thoroughly with window cleaner sprayed on a cloth, do not spray directly on glass. If defect is not solved, take the copy with a defect, lift the scanner lid and set the copy face up on the glass so that you can line up the copy and the line on the paper will show where the remaining contamination is on the slit glass for the ADF. You may need to scrub with a finger nail to remove remaining dirt.
