Is anyone else having trouble installing the CMA Desktop client Version: 5.2.5.35726 on Windows 8.1? A fresh install of the software will open the installer, but fails to continue the install - it just stops without indication of why.

Hello Jim,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
Most likely the root cause is that CMAD is only supported up to Windows 7.
Real Presence Desktop is supported for Windows 8 but to my knowledge we currently have no product that officially supports Windows 8.1
Please ensure to always check the Release notes accompanying the software in order to verify the supported host operating system compatibility.

Thanks for letting me know. I have been running the CMAD on my windows 8 machine for a few months now, and actually think the culprit might be Adobe Air. I was testing some things, uninstalled CMAD 5.2.5, tried to reinstall and found it would not let me pass the 'must run Air 2.0 or latter' prompt. I reverted to Air 4.0 and was able to reinstall and run the app normally.
With these things in mind - will there be updates for CMAD to run on Windows 8(.1) and work with the latest Air update?

I doubt there will be much CMAD development as RPD is the latest product range.
