HI Hoping someone can help ,  in my company , we have numerous poly studio x30 devices which we use a Custom Firmware URL to update the devices.  I am trying to update the Custom URL via API using Python.

is there anyway to achieve this?  the API documentation doesn't have any details on these attributes to update the custom firmware URL

is there anyway to achieve this that may not be documented?

I don't know how to do it with Python, but have you considered managing your devices using Poly Lens? You can set a custom update server URL via Lens policy.

Hello @Dante_24 ,

welcome to the HP Poly community.

Using Chrome (and others) Browser you can activate via F12 the diagnostic mode. Any value changed contains the relevant API command. Use at your own risk and with no support from HP Poly.

Best Regards

Hello @Dante_24

from our Public Video FAQ:

May 19, 2020 Question: Does a Poly G7500 or Studio X50/X30 support REST API?
Resolution: Details on this can be found in the Poly VideoOS REST API Reference Guide >here< (or search the Support Page for the latest) or for instructions check >here<

Based on my reply it should be easy to find the relevant parameter.

Best regards

Thanks Steffen , The documentation unfortunately doesn’t show anything for updating the firmware url.  I was looking for an example of what I should be looking for when inspecting the source code …  I’m trying to find the id that’s triggering the update , but anything that looks like it’s related to update server address , unfortunately doesn’t work .

Hello @Dante_24

as explained we from HP Poly do not provide the details apart from what is officially documented.

You can use the expert mode using chrome or similar to get the parameter you want to change. If this fails then you can use Poly Lens as suggested by @nlev

Best regards
