Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just purchased this OMEN by HP laptop and after one reboot, my function (fn) key no longer works and my keyboard won't light up... in addition to that the screen has flickered once or twice.  Am I missing some kind of driver?  Did something mess up somewhere?  Please help!

Hi! @ZygoMatticus, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

I understand that you have keyboard issues with your laptop.

Don't worry I will try to help you out.

As you mentioned it's a new laptop the Fn key does not work, keyboard backlight will not turn on and you have display issues with your laptop.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your printer?

Have you tried checking with an external keyboard? Does the Fn work using the external keyboard?

Please provide the product number of your PC to help you better.

Try restoring the BIOS default and check if it helps.

Turn on your PC keep tapping the F10 key. You will boot into BIOS under file tab, select restore defaults.

Press F10 to save changes and exit.

Also, update the missing drivers on your PC using HP support assistant.

Refer this article to know how to use HP support assistant.

Hope to hear from your soon!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂
