Hi eric:
Thanks for your reply . It is a pavilion G60-512WM notebook . and the P.No. is VM083UA#ABA . It seems that the Intel GL40 express chipset just supports the Celeron cpu ! what's your idea about that ? what about the core 2 cpu s ? however , the Intel website prove it !
sincerely yours

Hi,
It is, unfortunately just as you stated. The chipset itself only supports the Celeron processor. Core 2Duo mobile cpu's are a no go on this one for upgrades.
Here is the link to the Intel documentation that validates what you said about the Celerons.
regards,
erico

Hey erico:
Your fast reply is amazing !! however , There is no need for ! the Celeron with combination to GL40 give a fast enough speed for home working . This is faster than I got from my last C2D T7250 notebook !!
I don't know why but this is my personal experience ! these two Celeron & GL40 give a good result and the good benefit of celeron is its low temp which is cold all the time , But the C2D goes to be so hot !! .however the bad parameter for celeron is that it can't go through while runing several heavy apps at same time while C2D can .
So now, for me , HELLO Celeron and GOODBYE others .:smileyvery-happy:
Have a nice day erico

Leonardo,
I believe this might help you
And for the record, my laptop which is a Compaq CQ61-314TU (Which uses the same GL40 chipset) came with Dual core Celeron T3000 with 800FSB. when i checked the Service manual these Core 2 Duo CPUs with 800FSB were listed,
T6600 2.20-GHz processor
T6400 2.06-GHz processor
T6500 2.10 GHz processor
If the System BIOS supported, then i believe these CPUs will work with your system.

Hi Sunny,
Your motherboard has an embedded processor. It cannot be upgraded. Replacing the motherboard with p/n 50673-001 gives you the same processor with discrete graphics.
memory for your notebook can be a bit difficult to find, but a 4GB ddr533 upgrade is supported.

erico
